Latest Cross Stitch - The Outback Series
I just finished the second of three pictures that I'm doing in The Outback series. It's fun to work on something that's quite colourful and not so large for a change. The one part I was not so keen on was the rectangular box done in gold metallic thread. The stuff is such a finicky pain to work with.
The next picture that I just started is an Australian lizard. I have not figured out the name of this particular lizard yet but I will before I post a image of it. Australia seems to have quite a large variety of lizards including Geckos, Skinks, Goannas and Monitors. Dragons too!

It's really easy. You follow a chart that has a symbol for thread colour in every square and you just stitch an X in the corresponding square on the fabric with the correct colour of thread. I do it watching TV. But I make mistakes when a really interesting show (like Heroes) is on and then I have to go back and pick out the threads that are in the wrong places and restitch things.
Crochet is also easy while watching TV and it's easier to fix mistakes. You just pull on the yarn and unravel it back to the badness!
