I'm Back. Almost.

Ohh, what video card? I'm always curious to find this sort of stuff out. I bought a new card this weekend.

The PC I'm looking at comes with an NVIDIA GeForce 9500GS or 9800GT. I want to be able to play Oblivion with the video settings turned all the way up!

Oblivion is awesome! I'm currently playing it with an ATI Radeon 2400 HD, which is a budget card that this PC came with. It runs decently but I can't turn everything all the way up. I bought an NVIDIA 8800GT this weekend for $150 which should let me crank most everything up on all my games so I'm excited. Those two cards you're looking at are good stuff, although there have been some questions about the "performance per dollar" of the 9800GT vs. the 8800GT. If you've got the money though go for it!

Sadly I can't install my 8800 until next week when I buy a new power supply. The current one I have just doesn't support the card.

Now I want to play Oblivion again... someone really needs to make an online multiplayer mod for game.
Good luck with your upgrade! Last year I tried to install a new graphics card on my old (now broken) Dell PC which was, according to both Dell and nVidia, compatible but couldn't get it working. Found out I needed a new power supply and I installed that. Still didn't work. Turns out there is a very subtle power-related incompatibility between that particular Dell motherboard and the new graphics card. I had to give up.
