In some ways it's better the second time because you notice all sorts of details and nuances that you missed the first time or just forgot. In other ways, it's not as good because you actually do know what's going to happen next. But I don't thing that would be a problem for you, who is quite happy rereading the same favourite books, over and over again.
I have rewatched most of it on DVDs. But even before I got the DVDs I had seen every episode at least twice, if not three, four or five times on TV, at NW-B5 events and from my VHS recordings. Another thing that's cool about the DVDs is watching the episodes with cast and crew commentary.
Thanks for the links, Roewan!
Janette: I also have the DVDs. I am SO happy to have them. I think what Roewan said about it being better and also not being as good at the same time, is very true. Of course, before I had the DVDs, I had recorded them onto VHS tapes. I've rewatched them so many times over the many years that I have no idea where the number would be. It was the only show I cared enough about to rewatch, nonetheless tape or buy the series on DVD. I just love how if I get in the mood for a specific episode, I can watch it. And if I want to watch a whole season, I can. Obviously not in one sitting. :) I think it's at least as good second time around but perhaps not for all the same reasons. And if you have only watched it once through, it may still have a lot of the perks of the first viewing since your memory probably won't recollect everything. Of course, I don't know when you first watched it. I'm guessing it's been a while.
